Intake Appointments/New Visits

A psychologist–patient relationship is established only if we mutually determine that my practice is an appropriate fit for your treatment needs. The intake evaluation is a consultative appointment and does not, by itself, establish a psychologist–patient relationship. If, following the evaluation, it is determined that my practice is not the most suitable setting for your care, I will provide referrals to other qualified providers.

Adults:

  1. Initial consultation (90 minutes) - During our first meeting, I will take the time to understand the history of your concerns and explore how these challenges are impacting your life. This helps us create a solid foundation for effective treatment moving forward.

  2. Feedback (60 minutes) - This visit typically occurs 1-2 weeks after the initial consultation. During this visit, we will carefully review and discuss any diagnoses, providing clear explanations to ensure your full understanding. I will also offer recommendations for treatment options, share resources for further education, and help you gain a deeper understanding of both the diagnosis and the treatment plan moving forward.

Children/Adolescents:

  1. Parent-only consultation (60 minutes) - During our first meeting, I will take the time to understand the history of your child’s concerns and how these challenges are impacting their life. This conversation will help us build a foundation for effective treatment and ensure that we address the specific areas where support is needed.

  2. Child/teen consultation (60 minutes) - This visit typically occurs 1 week after the parent consultation. In this session, I will meet directly with your child or teen to better understand their concerns and experiences. This allows me to build rapport and gather important information to guide our work together.

  3. Feedback (60 minutes) - This visit typically occurs 1-2 weeks after the child/teen intake. This visit will include a thorough review and discussion of any diagnoses, with clear explanations provided for each. I will also offer recommendations for treatment options, share resources for further education, and ensure you have a solid understanding of both the diagnosis and the proposed treatment plan.
