Research

Diana Bastien, Psy.D., ABPP

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and board-certified specialist in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (ABPP), a distinction held by a limited number of psychologists in Washington and Oregon. In my private practice, I work with adolescents and adults, with a focus on functional neurological symptom disorder (FND/FNSD), anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and mood-related concerns.

I earned my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and have trained and worked across a range of hospital, academic, and outpatient settings, including Seattle Children’s Hospital. During my time there, I served as a clinical psychologist and as the lead psychologist in the Anxiety Intensive Outpatient Program, working closely with youth and families navigating complex anxiety and emotional challenges.

My clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based treatments, while also emphasizing connection, collaboration, and a deep respect for each individual’s experience. I have specialized expertise in treating OCD, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, and related conditions, as well as supporting individuals managing mood difficulties and broader emotional struggles.

Across my career, I have come to value thoughtful assessment, clear communication, and meeting people where they are. Whether working with a teen coping with intrusive thoughts or a parent seeking to better support their child, I aim to provide care that is both practical and compassionate.

I am board certified through ABPP and maintain licensure in multiple states. I remain actively involved in professional organizations and mentorship, which helps me stay engaged with ongoing developments in the field and contribute to the training of future psychologists.

In my private practice, I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported. My goal is to help individuals and families make sense of their experiences and move toward meaningful, lasting change—at a pace that feels right for them.
